Kathy J. Lang is the Chief Information Officer at Marquette University. She is responsible for the strategic direction of technology, IT project management, technology infrastructure, applications, IT security, research computing and technology support services.
Lang joined Marquette in 2002. Prior to her position at Marquette, she was the Chief Information Officer at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and the IT director at the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN.
Lang received the 2013 IT Executive of the Year Award from the Society of Information Management – Wisconsin for the non-profit category. She also received a 2008 Midmarket IT Leadership Award from CIO Decisions and under her leadership, Marquette University IT Services was the recipient of the Institutional Excellence in Information Communications Technology Award from ACUTA in 2009. Lang is a member of several IT advisory boards and is frequently asked to speak and consult on IT leadership and management topics.
Lang holds a master’s degree in business administration from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer information systems from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND.
